Something New

I've always struggled with stamps like this, and then I remembered my craft stash had moved on, and tried it with Black Archival. Bingo

It's a Michael Powell stamp from Docrafts, painted with Distress Inks. It's the first time I've stamped it successfully, and would have been my first time at Sunday Stamper.

I was going to enter it into Hels Sheridan's Something New challenge, but didn't get it uploaded in time. So I think I'll allow myself a double link and submit it to Simon's Says Stamp's Monday Challenge as well, which is also 'Anything Goes'.

My Girl

The Challenge over at The Craft Place this week was Film (Inspired)

This Humphrey's Corner image from Crafter's Companion makes me think of 'My Girl'

Ginkgo Lady

A quick extra this morning, for the Allsorts Challenge. This week it's Purple.

I used the very pretty Ginkgo stencil by Clarity Stamps, as well as their Sketched Lady stamp. I paper pieced her dress using a scrap of splodge mat clean up paper!

Spring Flowers

Another day, another challenge. I'm really enjoying this!

Sweet Stampin's Challenge of Spring Flowers was all the encouragement I needed to play with a set of Clarity Flower stamps that I have. I paired them with a corner stamp to create the layout.

Once I'd done that I had a very therapeutic time painting them with distress inks.

Miraculous butterflies

I am continuing to challenge myself to produce original artwork. I'm trying not to think too hard about what I'm doing, not to judge the quality of the results too much, and just to have a go.

This month's challenge at the Craft Stamper blog is 'Stencilling', so I've used the Butterfly Tree stencil from Clarity Stamps, along with items from the Journaling set and one of their Word Chains to create what I think is quite a pretty image.

Inspired by Italy

Following Barbara's blog and watching her and her design team create beautiful artwork from Clarity Stamp products is what inspired me to set up my own blog, so that I can participate in various challenges, and thereby stretch myself to create my own original artwork.

This month's challenge is Floral. I was inspired by a scene in the curret BBC series "Italy Unpacked", which shows a fleeting glimpse of the town of Matera seen through a field of poppies.

I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with it yet, could be a card, might frame it ...

Used Poppies and Town stencils. Background colours for the town are Old Paper and Milled Lavender Distress Inks; Scraped texture paste through the Poppy stencil and coloured them with Butterscotch, Pesto, Espresso and Lettuce Adi, Worn Lipstick Distress and Red Geranium Archival.

My first post - and my first creation for Mojo Monday

Inspired by http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/janesinspirationday

Stamps are by Clarity Stamp. Colours are Distress Inks: Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass (and probably Adirondack Butterscotch and Lettuce - green background paper from stash!)
